Just read the "
Chinese Anti-Japan Protests" from joi.ito.com, it just remind me again that weblogs can play a very important role of bridging different cultures and society especially for Chinese and people from western country.
The reason for that is,
1) Official or mainstream news medias in one country maybe not truthed at all in another country.
2) Since the language barrier the channel of information is limited.
3) Commerical medias can be influnced by money and /or goverment.
4) Blog posts can be more trustable since readers can judge them by a long blogging history.
Again and again, I heard people asked
"Why Japan need apologize again and again?"
"Isn't Taiwan a independent country already?"
"What China want from Taiwan?"
I bet many Chinese have something to say about those topics.
And I also know some Chinese bloggers write in English:
BingFeng Teahouse wang jianshuo mvm wenxin IssacMao At this point most Chinese bloggers blog in Chinese, I believe, more and more Chinese bloggers will begin to write in English, and the world will get a new way (possibly a way with more creditability ) to know about China and Chinese .
btw. I has an aggregation page of English blogs about China.
