i used to be a fan of train travel and, with the introduction of this brand-new train between shanghai and beijing, i have no reason to travel by a plane. i love the rhythm of the train and the feeling of running through the dark and open field in cold winter. it just feels so REAL compared with flying in a plane. a colleague of mine, once traveling together with me in a plane, looked at the clouds outside of the plane windows and siad, “man is just small, the God is laughing at our stupidity”. when traveling in a train, you don't feel you are small and you don't have a chance to relate what you see to those dark and weak sides of human nature. a good book, a good talk and then a good sleep, that's all i need but can't find in a plane.

ok, here are some of the pics taken by wang jianshuo:

The hall way of the new train

The decent water pot appeared on the snow white table

I was surprise to see they also serve new slippers for passengers, similar to hotels

On the back of the door of the cabinet is a oval glass, reflecting the whole cabinet

A fresh flower is placed on the table, making the trip more enjoyable

Display board showing train status, your cart number and the availability of washroom

You can control the strength of the lights, the temperature, the wind of air condition, and the volume of the speaker (or turn the train background music off)

The windows of the train look just those windows of high office buildings of Shanghai. You cannot open the windows

The head of the new train. It seems every details of the train changed

thanks for wang jianshuo's great pics.
