doggerels are very popular in beijing, they are just powerful and show us how witted common chinese are. but it's rare in shanghai, here are two i just learned from friends:

 

wo men de cheng shi xiang ou zhou, wo men de nong cun xiang fei zhou

(our cities are like europe, our rural districts are like africa)

 

lao a xi hui ge jiu ba, a di nin mang le ti dou fa (this is in shanghai dialect)

(foreigners like to play in bars, and chinese from other provinces are busy in working in barber shops)

step 1: cook a chicken breast in hot water

step 2: tear chicken meat into small slices

step 3: put powder of bunge prickly ash (hua jiao) into chicken slices

step 4: put some sesame oil, and red pepper, mill them, done!

some chinese dishes are much easier than this one. until next time, bye-bye!
