japan recently revised its textbook and reproduced a WWII warship dawa, which was sank during a sea warfare between japan and US. a movie called "man's dawa" will be shot to the memory of those "warriors" and inspire "japanese spirit".

the recent new regulations on campus bbs inspired people's interest in one public figure - professor li xiguang.

first eswn developed a post called a man with 2 faces, which followed by fons' analysis Will the real Li Xiguang stand up?. and i did a little research on the web, got an impression that he was there to make his audience excited, depending on what audience he faces, he could deftly switch his point of views to suit his audience tastes.

actually it's not the first time for him to be spotlighted, his advocany of banning anonymous usage of the internet made him a notorious guy in china, searching baidu with his name will turn out several other related searching terms like "li xiguang is a pig". but as i read some of his articles published before, i find he has a critical view on the role of media in a commercialized world, and in many cases he speaks like the watchdog of the public against evil big companys, like in this article he says,

many popular chinese media have occupied by various interest groups, ... many channels of large tv stations represent the the interests of certain groups ...

those popular media have disconnected with the interests of their audience in their contents and topics ...

in short, his many views are not consistent and leave an impression of 2-faced man.

now comes the interesting question that puzzles me - why is that? what are the internal motives for this inconsistency? or perhaps i should put it in another way, are they mere knee-jerk reactions to the environments surrounded him? or from a 3rd perspective, are they just reflections of the fast-changing but still "junior" media environment and industry?

having read his bio, i have reasons to credit my previous assertion that to some extents he is a "show boy", but, this motive is not strong enough for him to propose the notorious ban-anonyous-internet-usage policy,  which might be explained by knee-jerk theory but i doubt he is that kind of personality. the only reasonable explaination, based on what i know, is that he develops his views from where he stands, and depending on different perspectives you see the issue, you might have different conclusions.
