last night i read a post recommended by eswn but couldn't find it any more.

basically a hongkong blogger says that she wants to create a higher awareness for democracy in hongkong through "data sharing and opinion exchange".

not sure blog is a better tool than the message boards in "data sharing and opinion exchange". blogs are more like isolated islands, most of which have some readers but few feedbacks.

influential blogs can contribute to a more balanced view towards the public affairs, especially when mainstream media are either market-oriented or politically biased to some extents.

sometimes i think a blog-based message board community can do a better job.

blogchina site was closed. the announcement says it's under an upgrading process. but considering our readers' different tastes,  we'd better to have two versions of the same report:

1) Big Nanny Strikes Back

blogchina.com is one of the largest blog-based community sites in china. it has many super anti-japan nationalist bloggers who vent angers on the web everyday. to prevent the anti-japan sentiments harm the overall relationship with japan, the big nanny strikes back by closing down the site.

2) Site Upgrade

blogchina.com is one of the largest blog-based community sites in china. it has more than 170,000 registered bloggers and many of them find it too slow to get into the site. the site decides to make an upgrade and close the site temporarily.
