jeremy of danwei commented on the possibility of young chinese going to protest for democracy in the future:

As stories of the anti-Japanese demonstrations disappear from foreign and domestic news, various pundits in newspapers, TV programs and blogs are speculating that Chinese youths are suddenly armed with the tools (SMS! Email! The Interwebs!) to organize flash protests, and that this might prove to be a problem for the government in the future.

Well, maybe after the students finish applying for grad school in the US or Europe (or even Japan), studying for 200 hours a week to get good grades to get into grad school, downloading some porn, and driving with their parents in a new car to visit granny at her new apartment; maybe then the youths of Beijing and Shanghai will rise up and demonstrate about something that Westerners enjoy watching, like democracy or freedom of expression or something

i appreciate his high expectations of chinese youngesters.

a few months ago i interviewed a young boy and asked why he left KFC, he replied, "i feel cold when i dress the KFC t-shirt, it's required for every junior staff". this guy left our company on the first day of his job and told me why in a phone call later, "i feel sleepy after lunch, and i can't find a comfortable place in your office for a nap".

perhaps young chinese will use their fancy cell phones to organize protests for the right of wearing long-sleeved shirts in KFC or finding a big sofa to nap in bingfeng's company.
