now you must be familiar with this photo and the "wild dancing party" held on the great wall recently. now the news becomes the headline of china daily and soon i expect it will catch the eyeballs of chinese legislators, just wait and see.

"flood a frog" on Great Wall
media plays an important role in passing the social concerns on to top decision makers in recent years, and with the help of media, people of no power or resource could get a share of voice in formualting the policies and laws. however, the route is not clear-cut, and usually it takes a "bottom-up" approach to get the concerns heared by national media. the news of "wild dancing party" is an excellent case.
i first find this photo on hexun photo, a photo-sharing site which i visit occasionally for fun. the site is rather samll with not much influence, and at that time the issue seemd to be an isolated one.
then it appeared on more prominent online forums like cat eyes, a forum well known for readers' critical thinkings of political and social affairs in china. and this might lead it to the national news portal - sina news.

Jin Shan Lin Great Wall
with follow-up reportings like this at sina news, it is inevitable that the news moved on to the next stage - national official media like cctv and china daily, as well as on many provincial or city media. and the public are questioning on the legitimacy of contracting great wall to private firms and asking for proper legislations to protect the national heritage.
the "secret route" is no secret any more, individuals, organizations and greedy large firms all start to take the "bottom-up" approach to lobby the decision makers
is it what we expect to see - a social progress? i have mixed opinions - a speech excerpt.
