certainly the nuke is not fake, any sane people won't think the other way. why? because there are victims alive telling the sufferings they had from the nuke, and even they all die, there are photos, films and books record this historic event, and most important, younger japanese inherite this national memory from their parents and know that it happened in august of 1945.
"the rape of nanking", one of the most notorious atrocities committed by japanese army in china, was recorded in history by living victims and criminals, various proofs, photos, books and films, and memories of younger generations.
victims have been decreasing over years and people rely more on records of various forms to understand what has happened in the past, and this becomes a challenge for us as how to keep the authenticity and integrity of the history records, when they are unavoidably attected by policitial agenda, cultural bias and ethnocentric views. meanwhile, this also provides a golden opportuntiy for history revisionists to fabricate their own "history".
the xinhua bbs post, which cited a cctv documentary program called "record" as the source, has two former japanese imperial army soldiers tell their stories in the war:
when we want to rape women, we went to a village and search for women separately, ... once a woman resisted a veteran soldier desperately and the soldier was enraged, he then draged the woman to a well and push her into the well. the woman has a kid, when he saw his mom was pushed into the wll, he cried "mom mom" around the well, about only 4 years old, not very tall ,the child went back home and found a stool to jump into the well (to find his mom). ... i remembe i brought two grenades, then i threw on grenade into the well, the mom and her kid were killed in this way. this is what i have done before, in showa year of sixteen.
in that place i raped (the woman), after rape killed her, and she was also beheaded. at that time we have no meat to eat, (officers) let us to eat the human flesh (of that woman), we were glad to do so and ate it ...
the cctv program uses a documentary film shot in japan as part of its source, and the story-telling by former japanese soldiers are also part of that film, and it won prizes in a few international film festivals.
such stories are unbelievable to many who don't have a clue about the japanese atrocities in china, and they might ask questions concerning the credibility of the article, well, in fact you could ask numerous questions for that credibilityy check, depending on what you want to prove, you would ask a few, or limitless - are they really from a cctv program? should i believe a cctv program like this considering its state media nature? is it really from a japanese documentary? how can i believe that film was not fabricated by the director? are these old guys really former soldiers? are they telling the stories of their own or imaged ones? how can i believe them? even they ARE former soldiers and ARE telling true stories, how can we conclude these are not isolated cases? ......
hiroshima nuke need to be recorded, and recorded with authenticity and integrity, but when such questions as whether hiroshima nuke or "rape of nanking" was fake or not was raised, as a chinese saying goes, you know "these asses are sitting on the wrong places".
