I invited a Chinese speaker to my Japanese meeting last autumn here in London. I asked him to talk about anti Japanese sentiment in China. I already noticed at that point, this could be a serious problem between two countries. I already expressed most of my opinion here and hope you will refer it. I have repeatedly asked Bingfeng what kind of ultimate goal he has in mind, but he still has not been able to provide a reply. He declared the war to be ageist, revisionist, right wing without mentioning its definition. Fine, I am happy to help his work but unless he makes his theory more logical, he seems mere agitator and looks very racist to Japanese. On top of these, he is very reluctant to show his view to CCP. He never seriously argued with anybody except those with Soudenjapan but on another thread. Revisionism is a word that most historians and media people carefully avoid using because of its ambiguity, but it seems to be Bingfeng’s favorite word and label.
my ultimate goal, which i put somewhere here in this blog before, is to remind japanese readers that there won't have zero-sum games between japan and china (there has never been such a thing in the past too). and to fully appreciate the nature of the "sino-japanese war" (or "anti-japanese war" in china side) is the first step and the foundation for japanese to reach to this level of understanding. as i said again and again, my revealing the ugly japanese revisionism in this blog is not backward-looking, but forward-looking, only after japanese (and chinese to a less extent) accept that can they work to build a virtuous cycle between the two countries. win-win, or lose-lose like the sino-japanese war, you choose it.
as for your accusation of my being racist to japanese, i have to tell you that is not true. my anger is only targeted to those japanese who try to minimize the sins of japanese crimes during the war. if you follow my posts carefully, you should know that my family and i have good contacts with some japanese people and i have no negative emotions on japanese as a whole.
CCP made serious mistakes and committed crimes in the past, it's the duty of the government and chinese people to reflect and learn from the past. but since this blog is in english, i see it less revelant to talk about chinese domestic politics, as a matter of fact, politics takes a small part of the blog.
i noticed that this blog attracts more and more readers from japan. i promise i will do more work to enhance the multi-understanding between the two countries, with less negative emotions involved, and i appreciate comments or criticisms like from ichiro-san or souden-san, no matter how i disagree with tehm.
very busy in preparing for another biz trip to northern china, will bring more interesting stuff in the coming days.
