"battling movie piracy", great. his chinese fans, most of which know this guy from pirated DVDs, are just crazy for him and will check the nearby pirated DVD stores for The Terminater IV tonight and wait for his next speech on how to battle movie piracy in china.
dear Arnold, how can we help you battle the moive piracy if we don't know you and like you from pirated DVDs?
update: an MSN messenger buddy called "slash my horse when i am drunk" accused me of "promoting piracy and giving a bad image of chinese in front of teahouse readers". movie piracy need not be promoted in china, and many foreigners also buy pirated DVDs, actually the best friend/customer of the owner of a pirated DVD store near my home is a foreigner, he visits the store almost every night and give advice to the store owner what are the latest hits of the season. since foreigners can not bring their pirated movie collections back home, they usually send them to their friends before they leave china. one of them hold a california-style farewell party, in which various items are given out for free to his neighbours, and pirated DVDs are one of the most welcomed.
