i wrote a post about the results of an activity in the chinese island located near Fujian province, but was unable to publish it. i tried more than 10 times to publish the post and everytime i received a note that my post "contains illicit word", even if i made revisions on all those possible sensitive words like T***@****i****w***@****n, or e****1****e****c****t****!****O****n, or s***e***ss****i****O****n, at the end still unable to get it published.

you know the results of the activity in that island. basically my post says that chinese people are happy with the results, and the blue organization that won the activity will probably promote the relationship between that island and the rest of china, and the green organization that lost the activity, unlike many people think, might take a more provoking stance towards mainland china.

now, pls allow me comment on this stupid policy that makes my post unable to get published at my blog (i am not saying it's the fault of bcchinese blog host) :

FUCK YOU!

via: shanghaiist - china advancing in the global "trash tv wars"

i have three tv sets in two living places, two equipped with dvd players and one with a satellite dish. my wife and i are not big fan of entertainment shows, like what shanghaiist says, most of them are trash and appeal to teenagers or housewives/senior citizens, my wife occasionally watch a few tv dramas of documentary nature. both of us watch a lot of news and interviews. don't laugh at us because we still watch the cctv "news", we watch it in a special way so we could find the useful information. we once wanted to buy a set-top box but later gave up because of teh poor and unstable quality of the programs. sometimes i watch the cnbc news and the tonight show but find they are just too far away from my life here.

in recent years, i see a tv set more like a liability of a quality life and proposed a "no-tv day" every week. and my wife thinks that it might be a good idea to move the tv set from the bedroom to the bathroom, but it seems the tv set is too big for our bathroom.

we have a few friends who also moved tv sets from their bedrooms and hoped to instead spend more time with their family members. i know they failed because every time i log on to the MSN messenger, they come to say hello to me.

a mini tv that i can put on my office desk or in the bathroom is in my wishlist of new years shopping, but not sure i can find a good one that is not too expensive.
