i learned from a friend recently that business newspapers received instructions as what to report and what not to report about the property market, so that the speculative market could be cooled down and the poor could afford a house. the overheated shanghai property market was partly attributable to a best seller called "rich dad, poor dad", a lot of shanghainese found a new way to speculate after reading the book written by a japanese americna who made himself a millionaire by speculating in teh property marekt.
is it a device or a purpose? different people see it quite differently.
