Dear Mom,
I arrived in Shanghai last Friday. It's hot and humid but I am really excited to see the city, today is the first day I went to the office and met my new colleagues, they are all friendly, Lisa, the receptionist, is always ready to help others, Peter, a very nice young guy, help me arrange my desk, computer and stationeries, William, you won't believe it, ordered a big lunch box for me, and Katherina, my assistant, is very hard-working and efficient. They even introduced company driver, Rudolf, and a few other office workers - Julie, Amanda, Icey (weird name) to me. I like them all.
Good night. I will write to you soon.
Alice
Alice,

Take care, Alice. Love you!
Mom

as one of the biggest destination of japanese money in mainland china, shanghai deleted a famous textbook story about five heroic chinese soldiers in the sino-japanese war between 1937-1945, who fought a few hundreds of japanese army, refused to surrender but jumped the cliffs instead.
as one of the most significant beneficiary of a booming real estate market in mainland china, shanghai some how circumvented the policies from the central government, which intends to cool down the market.
it's pretty consistent, isn't it?
if china is in some ways evil, curse the capitalists instead of the communists.
