via: peking duck - "Korea has been a part of China since ancient times!"

an academic study has became an diplomatic dispute between china and south korea. it's quite understandable that countries like china and korea are sometime very sensitive to issues related with national sovereignty and pride.

however, it's interesting that peking duck blog always picked up only one side of the story, at the same time vehementaly accused ESWN blog of imbalanced coverage and "neglecting key points" when reports china news.

this is the other side of the story that peking duck blog usually forgets to tell you:

a map in a korean history book, in the map, russian far east, japan and most part of china belong to korea

《the korean history》,"it's not a textbook", said korean consulate in shanghai

yeah, according to that history book, the region of current shanghai was part of korea, taiwan and part of tibet also belonged to korea

well, these are just personal opinions (in the korean case) or academic studies (in the chinese case). it's a little silly to bring them to the level of diplomatic dispute

and it's not very fair to accuse others(ESWN blog) of imbalanced covergage while it's a common practice of itself (peking duck blog).
