As the saying goes, Practice is the sole criterion for testing truth, I said 'Just try it to find out the truth' to myself this afternoon when I didn't feel like to agree with my manager. Following is the whole story:
I followed the instructions to handle some files, unfortunately, something seems wrong with the application installed on my computer. I tried various ways I can to find out the problem, but the error message still prompted when I tried to open the file.
In case too much time wasted, I finally asked help from my manager. He suggested me uninstall the application and install a lower version. I did so and the problem solved. But when I suggested to install the newer version so that we can handle any pre-processed files from our clients, he said the two versions exist in the mean time can arouse conflicts so we can only install just one of the versions. Really? I doubted about it since I've ever installed both versions on my previous machine and both versions can work smoothly if user's operations are correct. The difference I was not sure at the moment is the copyright relevant issue. To avoid any mistake caused by my own ignorance, I said nothing at the moment when he said the 'truth' confiently.
But my experience told me that it might not be the truth. I finally tried again and cheered about my discovery. I found out satisfactory answers for both my doubt and the previous problem, which was actually not caused by the application version.
If you boubt about anything, please just try to find out the truth by practice. There might be nothing more effective, convincing and trust worthy than the truth itself discoverred by your courageously practices.
Just Try It!
