If your computer system is screwed by the "69.20.16.183 ieautosearch" hijack, I hope my 2 cents can help you.
I met this problem today. Ad-aware,Spy-bot, and Hijackthis can't remove it.
Hijackthis log always showed:
O1 - Hosts: 69.20.16.183 auto.search.msn.com
O1 - Hosts: 69.20.16.183 search.netscape.com
O1 - Hosts: 69.20.16.183 ieautosearch
I tried many tools people introduced on the internet. They don't work on this case.
Finally I find a Lavasoft's VX2 Cleaner plug-in. Fortunately, it works.
Let me tell you what I did:
1.Download the VX2 Cleaner Plugin of ad-aware "plvx2cleaner.exe" and install it into Ad-aware( You should have installed the latest version Ad-aware before.)
2.Run the Ad-aware. Run Spy-bot.
3.Run Hijackthis. This time, “69.20.16.183” things disappeared.
4.Reboot the system. Run Ad-aware again. Use Hijackthis to check again. No “69.20.16.183” comes out now.
