One of the worst things and best things about being a human being is not being able to see things separately. We always see a person as a person, but never as the thousands of thousands of cells they are. Nor do we see a dress as the many threads they are, or even many pieces of fabric woven together. Although this has brought us society, this has also made society a failure. Instead of recognizing each member of society as the success they are, we tend to see all of society as a whole, which makes us see, although we’d rather not think of us as seeing, each member as a replaceable, interchangeable, and unnecessary piece that hardly matters in the big picture. I mean, how many people see a single lawyer, a single doctor, or a single plumber as important? There a thousands of them around. Looking at everything this way, a day becomes no time at all, nor does a week, month, and even a year. The only thing that seems to matter are things big enough to be considered a whole as itself.
What if the world was to wake up and see all its mistakes? What if we all suddenly knew that we only had ten days to live? What if all the airports and cars, and buses were to disappear? What if the air outside became so polluted, so we couldn't leave our houses? Then, with no fast way to get around, and only our own homes to explore,
we would finally live life to the fullest, using all our senses, seeing all the thingsthat we usually wouldn't notice, and finally, not take anything- our lives, our possessions, even our time- for granted.
